We have a simple approach. We want everyone to live a long, fulfilling, active life and we design our training to help you achieve that. Our basic tenants are simple: Move more often and pick up heavy things. Eat foods your grandparents ate. Get outside and go on adventures. Try new activities and sports. If we can get you to do these four things, you will see improvements in both your health and performance. Oh yeah, and you'll look better naked.  Sounds nice, eh?

CrossFit Classes 

This is the way most of our members choose to go. CrossFit classes are small group classes (ranging from a few folks up to about 10) that feature lifting weights, doing work that gets your heart rate elevated and makes you sweat, and a mix of other things like working on gymnastic skills and improving your mobility and flexibility. CrossFit classes can be scaled for anyone's current fitness level. Athletes and grandmothers workout along side each other in these classes but everyone has a dose of exercise that is appropriate for them.

Personal Training

The best option for those people who have very specific goals or enjoy the one-on-one attention of a coach. Personal training definitely still has a CrossFit feel to it but allows for the program to target exactly the areas you are looking to improve on.

Ransom Kids

This is our elementary to middle school aged fitness class. This class helps kids learn the importance of exercise at young age and helps them make fitness a part of their lifestyle from the get-go. Ransom Kids is great for children who play sports but might be even better for those kids that aren't active. This gets them moving around and they love coming (even if you can't get them to go play in the yard when you're at  home).

Strength & Conditioning

This is an area where our coaching staff shines. We have coaches who played sports at high levels, have worked as strength coaches in professional sports, and have many hundreds of hours coaching on the playing field in addition to their time coaching at the gym. Perfect for the athlete or team that wants to push their game to the next level.

Ryan Pye | C.S.C.S., CFL1, USAW L1

Ryan played baseball at GCSU while earning his Bachelor's. He went on to further his education, studying Kinesiology in Graduate School at Georgia Southern University. Before opening CrossFit Ransom, Ryan worked as a Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Washington Nationals professional baseball team and has worked with hundreds of professional, college, and high school athletes. Additionally, Ryan has personal training and group training experience with people from ages 10 to 75! Having worked with some of the best athletes on the planet and worked with 80 year olds after double hip replacements, Ryan has a wide range of experience.

Morgan Pye | CFL1, CrossFit Gymnastics

Morgan was an All-Conference and All-Region soccer player at GCSU where she earned her B.A. in Physical Education. Morgan's "day job" is being a PE Teacher at Barksdale Elementary school where she was named "Teacher of the Year" in 2016/2017. Morgan has coached and trained athletes and clients from ages 4 to 65 and of all ability levels. Morgan also enjoys "The Sport of Fitness" and competes in CrossFit events across the SouthEast.

rachelle reimers | CFL1

Rachelle got her start with CrossFit in San Diego in 2013 as part of a "30 Before 30" bucket list item. She was instantly hooked and it has completely transformed her life. She loves that CrossFit keeps you interested with a different workout every day, always offers a new goal to try to attain, and supports a healthy body image (throw away your scale!). But most of all, the CrossFit community is unlike any she has ever experienced - which is ultimately what led her to coaching. She loves helping people discover their inner beast and pushing them to reach their full potential in the box.

BEcka vity | CFL1

Becka is a coach and CrossFit athlete. As a coach she is well versed in both weightlifting and nutrition. She placed in the top 300 in the competitive South East region in the 2016 Open. Becka just had a baby girl and is now back on track to be a competitive athlete again.

Thomas Vity | USAW L1

Thomas graduated from Business School with a Master's degree. He has been top 100 in the South East Region in the Open for the past 2 years and is trying to qualify for Regionals before 2020. Thomas has a background in Kyokushin Karate, where he won the youth European cup in 2008. He obtained his black belt second degree after 17 years of practicing Martial Arts. Thomas heads up our Olympic Weightlifting an Gymnastics specialty courses on Thursday nights.
